Description

K-BROVET™ Chewable Tablets are veterinary prescription tablets containing 500 mg of potassium bromide and cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12), now in a palatable French Vanilla flavor. K-BroVet is used to help manage seizure activity in dogs, especially for those that may not tolerate other anticonvulsants. It may be used alone or alongside phenobarbital, depending on the individual needs of the patient.

 

Dosage & Administration

The typical starting dosage to reach a serum level of approximately 1 mg/mL is 120 mg/kg by mouth once daily for 5 days, followed by a maintenance dose of 30 mg/kg once daily. To reach a serum level of approximately 1.5 mg/mL, give 160 mg/kg by mouth for 5 days, then reduce to 40 mg/kg once daily. Always consult your veterinarian for specific dosing guidance.

Description

 K-BROVET™ Chewable Tablets are liver flavored tablets containing 250 mg or 500 mg of potassium bromide and cyanocobalamin. K-BroVet is used as the sole anticonvulsant for dogs that cannot tolerate anticonvulsants that affect the liver and can be used in conjunction with phenobarbital therapy, based on individual patient responses and needs.

 

Dosage & Administration

For a loading dose to achieve a serum level of approximately 1 mg/mL, give 120 mg/kg PO daily for 5 days and then reduce to 30 mg/kg PO once daily.  To achieve a serum level of approximately 1.5 mg/ML, give 160 mg/kg PO for 5 days and then reduce to 40 mg/kg PO once daily thereafter.
