How it works

Methio-Forms active ingredient is dl-methionine, an amino acid that acidifies your pets urine. It also helps to treat and prevent certain types of bladder stones.  Cautions: Side effects that may occur when using Methio-Form include loss of appetite, vomiting, or diarrhea. Other side effects may also occur. Talk to your veterinarian about any side effect that seems unusual or bothersome to your pet. 

Dosage & Administration

Methio-Form is a prescription medication used in dogs and cats as a urinary acidifier in the treatment and prevention of certain types of urinary stones.

• Tell your veterinarian about any other medications you are giving your pet.
• Tell your veterinarian if your pet has ever had severe liver, kidney, or pancreatic disease, or if your pet is acidotic.

Give this medication exactly as directed by your veterinarian. If you do not understand the directions, ask your pharmacist or veterinarian to explain them to you. Store this medication at room temperature and protect from light. Keep out of the reach of children and pets.

Dosage: Pet Weight Dosage Dogs: Up to 15 lbs Give 1/2 to 4 tablets daily   15–33 lbs Give 2 to 7 tablets daily 33–66 lbs Give 4 to 13 tablets daily Cats: All weights Give 1/2 to 1 tablet per 2.5 to 3 pounds of body weight daily Horses: X X Storage: Store at room temperature, away from moisture and heat.
