Description

Diphenhydramine HCI, commonly known as Benadryl, is an antihistamine used to relieve allergy symptoms such as coughing and itching caused by insect bites, pollen, house dust, and other allergens. Additionally, it can help control vomiting, motion sickness, and may be used as a mild sedative to treat muscle tremors caused by toxins or other medications. Customers may receive this medication under the names Benadryl (Warner Lambert) or Histacalm (Virbac).

Precautions

This medication should not be used in animals allergic to it or other antihistamines. Caution is advised when it is administered with other CNS (central nervous system)-depressant drugs, such as tranquilizers or barbiturates. Always inform your veterinarian about any other medications your pet is taking.
