Puppies are born with relatively no immune system. They have to rely on their mother's colostrum for their first immune factors to develop. But due to competition, there may not be an adequate amount of colostrum for every or all of the litter.
Colostrum in the pre-milk fluid produced from the mother's mammary glands during the first few days of birth.
Rich source of antibodies, growth factors and nutrients for the nursing puppy
Increases growth of good bacteria.
Stimulates the immune system to respond appropriately.
This is where NurseMate ASAP Gel steps in.
Gives the newborn the energy to aggressively nurse
Provides an
alternative source of colostrum with the essential proteins the newborn
needs to get the right start
Identify At Risk Puppies
Hand-fed puppies
Puppies of larger than average litters
Puppies that are smaller than the rest
Sick mother's milk may be toxic with bacteria
Puppies will often stop eating when suffering from mild gastrointestinal infection
Another reason for a sluggish appetite is some puppies resist solid food at weaning
Dosage
NurseMate should be given throughout the first 96 hours after birth.
If possible, the first dose should be given right after birth, before puppies start nursing.
Give 2mL as soon after birth as possible, or when reduced appetite is observed.
